Australian Mathematics Competition

The Australian Mathematics Competition is an Australia-wide competition open to students in Year 3 to Year 12.  It aims to create, encourage and sustain interest in the study of mathematics.  It was established in 1978 and currently has approximately 600,000 participants, making it the world's largest mathematics competition.

The competition will be held on Thursday, 9th August 2018, during periods 4 to 7.

Students gain external recognition  of their achievements by receiving certificates and reports showing how they performed compared to their peers. These certificates can be included in resumes and the top students even receive cash and book prizes.  There is no cost to participate in the competition.

Numbers are limited so please get in early to avoid disappointment.  Entry/ consent forms can be collected from your student's mathematics teacher and are required to be returned to their classroom teacher or Mr Anthony Elliot (HOD Mathematics) by Friday, 25th May 2018.
