Cleveland High Instrumental Music Program

Music cultivates in students an enduring love of and lifelong involvement in music. Students become familiar with music technologies as well as exploring performance, analysis and composition.

CHIMPS is a sub-committee of Cleveland District State High School’s P&C and endeavours to support the staff, students and parents of Cleveland High’s music program. CHIMPS aims to raise funds to buy and maintain music instruments, and provide student access to band uniforms.

To help with this fundraising, each year parents of Performing Arts students are asked to pay a subscription. This small sum is used to help the committee provide extras, such as uniforms and new instruments, which are outside the school budget.

CHIMPS do a number of fundraising events during the year: catering at school concerts, selling drinks and supper at events in the Performing Arts Space, raffles and so on. Families of performing arts students who provide assistance for these events may consider their subscription paid in kind. Families who are unable to assist personally are invited to pay the subscription instead.

CHIMPS’ aim this year is to provide the money to purchase several instruments, so we hope to be able to give about $6000 to the school. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Please subscribe, help out, attend our concerts, come to meetings – be a Performing Arts supporter!
