Students have the opportunity to reach fluent speaking levels in French Japanese and Mandarin Chinese beginning with extension classes with longer blocks of time in year 8.
The school has a state of the Art Language Centre where students have the opportunity to video conference with students from anywhere in the world as well as sophisticated language software which is accessible to all students.
Overseas trips to Asia and Europe as well as regular visits by students from overseas provide opportunities to improve language proficiency.
We are recognised by Education Queensland as an Asian Language Centre of Excellence and have been accepted by Han ban for the development of a Confucius classroom.
Adult evening classes are conducted regularly throughout the year. Currently these are in French, Japanese and Chinese. Other languages will be offered to meet community needs.
