We understand our international students (especially our Study Abroad students) wish to visit as many special locations in Queensland and Australia as possible whilst studying at Cleveland District State High School. Our school is ideally located on the beautiful
Redlands Coast . North Stradbroke Island Traditional name Minjerribah, nickname - Straddie is a short water taxi ride away and departs from the Cleveland Ferry Terminal.
Many students like to visit 'Straddie' on the weekend to swim at the lifesaver patrolled beaches or the view sea life (whales, dolphins, turtles) from The Gorge Walk. To the south, students can travel by train to the
Gold Coast and to the north, the
Sunshine Coast. Our school is also perfectly located with easy bus and train access to
Brisbane City (The River City). Click on the links to find out more about our special part of the world.
Adventures with Cleveland District State High School
Several international student excursions are planned each year. Trips include, visits to North Stradbroke Island Surf School (every school term) and the Cairns Adventure (every semester), complete with visits to the Crocodile Farm, Port Douglas, Kuranda and the Great Barrier Reef.
We also have strong links with our local adventure provider,
Oceanic Tours who offer day trip opportunities for students to visit Noosa, Byron Bay and Tangalooma. As an international school, several trips to different countries including, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Europe and the United States occur biannually to deliver a truly global education in a real context. If your enrolment coincides with a Cleveland District State High School student tour, you will have the opportunity to join the study tour just like any other domestic student.
