It is my pleasure to welcome you to Cleveland District State High School. We care deeply about the intellectual, social and emotional development of every one of our students. We want all of our students to become active, compassionate, lifelong learners who have the confidence and abilities necessary to face the challenges of our rapidly changing society.

That's why we're so passionate about our vision of 'Preparing students to meet the future' by delivering an equitable world-class education as a proud State School. Our motto reflects our values - 'Semper Digne' which means 'Always Worthy'. We believe that every one of our students is worthy. We are committed to developing their potential, their interests and their skills because our students are unique and will make an important contribution to the future.

We have three drivers that underpin our philosophy to guide us in achieving our vision. Kaizen has a focus on continuous focused improvement, Neoteny captures the joy of learning, and Ubuntu is about humanity towards others. These drivers capture our ambition to be a better school every day.

We are very proud of our local, Queensland and Australian reputation as a prominent and successful state school. We are recognised as leaders in developing global perspectives to provide students with a deeper understanding of our world. Our school is acknowledged in Australia as a pioneer in the utilisation of digital resources and tools to create unique opportunities for our students. We have a reputation for excellence in a range of fields including technology, creative arts, languages and sport.

Our school has built many partnerships with industry, universities, TAFE, community groups, sporting and cultural organisations to allow students additional opportunities and advantages.

Cleveland District State High School's teachers and staff work professionally to create remarkable learning experiences for students that are relevant and innovative in order to inspire students on a pathway to success. We are one of only a few schools in Australia that offer four unique pathways to personalise learning.

Our Intensive Academic Program allows university bound students to study a challenging ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) pathway or be part of the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

The Tertiary Options Pathway allows students who intend to go on to further studies to mix academic subjects with some flexible options such as a Diploma of Business or a Certificate III in Aviation for example.

The Work Readiness Pathway provides students with excellent preparation to transition straight from school to TAFE or the workforce after Year 12 by completing Applied Subjects, TAFE courses and a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship.

Finally, the Life and Work Skills Pathway creates a very practical, skills-based education with Applied Subjects, a course from our vocational partners, work experience, as well as assistance to gain a School-Based Traineeship.

I encourage you to learn more about our school by viewing the resources on our website.
