At Cleveland District State High School, we have a dedicated
international student office/homeroom, international learning spaces and
world-class educational facilities across the school (scroll down to see some
photos of our beautiful campus).
EAL/D (English as a Second Language or Dialect) - A team of
highly skilled EAL/D teachers support our international students with their
learning. Our EAL/D teacher (Senior Schooling) can also help you prepare for
Cambridge English Language Proficiency testing or IELTS if this is an extra
qualification you would like to pursue whist studying at our school.
Monday and Wednesday Senior Schooling Study Program –
Cleveland District State High School operates a flexible timetable in Years 11
and 12, with Mondays dedicated as an Options Day (students may choose to study
at home or on campus). On Monday, international students often meet in
small groups with our EAL/D teacher who provides guidance with exam preparation
and assessment. There is also the opportunity to select EAL/D study as an
option every Wednesday afternoon.
Study Centre – operates each Tuesday afternoon. Teachers
from different subjects will often arrange for extended tutorials during this
dedicated study time to support learning.
